A cold day doesn't get us down.

We revisited the Children's Museum and the gardens across the street, which are full of history lessons. We like learning about Kamloops history and the kids get super excited when they can connect their ancestors to their learning.

Summer Fun!

Water adventures.

We spent lots of time at the lake this summer. We camped a bit and also had many day trips full of fun. The kids got into some sandcastle competition with friends. Aiden has grown leaps in his swimming skills and tried snorkelling. Gemma has been gaining kick strength too. Keiran has grown in confidence but is my shore dweller most of the time, and loves to dig in the sand.

Finn loved to just sit and explore all the sticks and rocks at the waters edge.

 He is a great gift.

We love the water park too. Gem is warming up after some splash fun.

Summer Living

This summer was full. The next few posts will prove it. Enjoy a medley of our pics!

Aiden building Lego creations from his birthday.

Canada Day arts were great indoor fun for all to beat the heat.

We spent tons of time at the spray park this year. Dad and Finn relaxing in the shade.

 Gemma warming up.

Aiden the brave, waiting for the bucket to drop.

Because of spending so much time in town this summer, we found a little neighborhood park to hang at one day. Old school slide ;)

Gemma trying the monkey bars.

Finn's first swing.

Never to young for the library! Aiden, Gemma, and Keiran took part in the summer reading club. Aiden committed to reading at least a chapter every day, and Gemma read one of her Sonlight "Fun Tales,"  every night.

Again we had toads appear in our yard after some August rain. The kids like to create a little ecosystem for them in our kiddie pool.

Simple life lessons.

We had a busy but restful week off of any major schoolwork. I am learning to take cues from my kids (and myself) that we need a break. We instead had a week of getting ready for the baby and for winter. We had a work-bee day and cleaned out the basement, along with digging out winter gear. The kids worked outside with Dad for a couple days, gathering and burning yard waste and branches.
Extended family was also here for the week, as well as for Thanksgiving. Uncle Brandon has just started working here and is staying with Grandma for now. Auntie Kristina and Dominic were up and they all have found a place to live so they will be back soon.
Uncle Darin and Auntie Courtney were up for Thanksgiving dinner. That is all of Mom's family! Grandma took the kids for a hike/walk down to the gully in the afternoon and then the kids got to paint Kool-Aid paintings. The rest of the day was spent watching movies and playing games.
We ended the week with a family hike around the lake.
Mom has been having lots of pre-labor but there is no baby yet, so it is back to schoolwork this morning.

Kool-Aid Painting~

Step one: Spray paper with water. Step two: dip brush, sponge, etc, in Kool-Aid powder.

Smells like lime.

The kids climbed a huge stump and were pretending they were judges.
"Order in the court!"

Who can do a chin-up? Only Daddy can. Dad lifted them up to try.
