Some lovely randoms.

My gorgeous son, onto digger coloring.

Our apples trees are full this year. The kids went picking with Grandma and got some ripe, bite-sized treats.

When it is summer you can have fruit salad for dinner. Mom loves shopping at the Old Town Market.

This is what Mom looks like these days.

Took a little road trip to meet up with Uncle Dave and Auntie Shea. We had our yearly marshmallow roast with giant marshmallows. The kids helped get wood for the fire making.

And there was fishing.

Park Days

We have been taking advantage of the community park while we still have nice weather.

Monkey bars...

...sliding.... tag....

Horse riding....

Duck wrangling....

....climbing....

... and hide-and-seek.

Socials

I am still not sure about our new socials program but we have finally got it organized and started....

Mom serves as Gemma's scribe.

Library books we used to learn about sharing, co-operating, and senses.

This is Aiden's. He is learning about cardinal directions again right now, and using maps.

Sonlight Science

We all do science together... We have been learning about air, atmosphere, seasons, weather....

An air experiment. The kids doing a paper race.

Aiden won, as he had more forceful air flow.

An experiment with air and water. The bottle is filled with air so when immersed in water, the air forces itself out in bubble. Gemma loved this one.

Aiden does all the paper work for this course since Gem isn't writing much yet.

Water cycle, weather.

Clouds.

Numbers

Aiden's Math

He has been working on counting to 100 and counting by tens. Today he started adding two.

Gemma's Math

Gemma is counting, matching, and learning to form her numbers.

August English

Aiden's English work:

Explode the Code, double consonants/two syllable words.

This pic didn't work out so well but these are Aiden's similes...
My bear is as big as 34 trucks loads of dirt!
My bear is as soft as 100 blankets.

He has been doing awesome on his spelling tests.

Every week starts with a rule and a word list.

More Explode the Code.

More words.

Gemma's English work:

Practicing T. Sound recognition... B, M, F, B, T, F.

Practice makes perfect. Today she learned R.

stages

This morning we started a fresh month and we are now into all of our subjects, getting a groove going. I have changed Keiran to a more pre-K kind of learning and will no longer be doing any book work with him. He was a trooper this last month and has a lot of understanding but his fine motor skills and attention span are just not there yet. We will work on his numbers and letters more now, and he can be around to listen in- we shall see where he ends up by the end of the year. As well, this brings more focus on Gemma who is doing marvelous in her Kindergarten learning. And not forgetting about Aiden, who is continuing to be a great learner too. He does well being a little more independent. I am so glad that I can change up anything where it needs to be. This Mom is already loving year two of homeschooling and I am excited to have gotten a head start since we will need some time off when we add babe number four in a  month or so....
