homebody

This mamma has some thoughts.... We have been uprooted recently and are staying at Grandma's house. Our house needs some work and maybe we are being thrown into a place of redirection. Our schedule is going to need to be slack for a few days as we (the parents) are going to be making big decisions.
As for the kids, Aiden has finished his English program this last week. He exclaimed, "I didn't know I could do the whole thing!" He is still giving me a bit of trouble as he tries to be so big and in charge. This is one of those characteristics that will be good if it is grown for good as he gets older and more mature. He will be a great man, leader, protector, daddy, one day. We are going to try out a new Sonlight program for him right away and hopefully this change will put him back on track as he really does love to learn. Yesterday he was writing songs and made me smile that he was back to his better self.
Gemma has been in ballet and there are many girls, friends included, there. It is nice for her to have something special for herself, and we even went out for lunch afterwards this week to make it a girls day. I am just changing gears in thinking about her schooling as she will be in kindergarten next year! I will have to register her and plan out her books soon, but for my sanity I will wait until we have things a little more sorted around home.
Keiran is in the stage of learning emotion and is so mad and then so sad and then so silly. I am seeing more of his personality and giftings emerge and am thinking that he is going to be my encourager. He is great at giving hugs and saying kind words. He warms my heart immensely. Oh, and I have started our "How to Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Lessons" book with him as I heard a familiar phrase about frustration with not being able to read come out of his mouth.
One thing that I can say, is that it is good to be able to pack up school in a box, even if it is a little disorganized.
.... suffering.....perseverance....character....hope.... (you know, from my old favorite verses in Romans 5)
