Keiran

We have been working through most tasks/subjects as a family and trying to weave together different subjects as well. It has been a great term so far, growing new skills and working together.
Keiran's work:

We all start together and each child works to their own ability. Keiran has been stepping up in bravery as he had some challenges with reading and is now growing his writing skills. He overwhelms quite easy and so likes to wait for quiet to finish his work. It has been good for him to find his own voice more as well.
Keiran is working through Math-See Beta. This lesson was multiple digit subtraction. He worked on it little parts as there were more steps.

Four digit subtraction came more easily after all the practice.

Our family reader. Learning about early life on the prairie, women's lack of rights, horse travel, one room school, immigration, and deadly influenza.

Nature reader for Monday before our hike- watching for signs of the season's change.

Keiran learned to identify the Steller's Jay after asking about it in a friend's yard.

On our nature hike, Keiran some some ducks far away on the river and wanted to learn about ducks. He came home and looked them up in our bird book.

Weekly scripture copy work.

Keiran loves reading the Imagination Station series both for silent reading and with mom in the eve. Mom loves that it incorporates a part of history, both scripturally and otherwise.

One of our parts of speech books.

Keiran has surprised himself with how much he has written on his story, especially because he has re-edited multiple times. His story is really coming together. He underlined some verbs he added this round.

Keiran's junior science journal is great so that he is not comparing his lack to his brother and sister writing wise and can work at his own level. He is amazing at remembering science facts and can tell me all the answers when we review after each lesson. He loves knowing the way things work!

Keiran learned a lot about Scottish Canadians, and one famous one.

For activity Keiran has been going swimming with dad regularly, and trying to swim across the pool and back. He is also hiking, walking, playing at the park, biking, tree climbing, and running.
Keiran is well versed in the chores of our home and is even cooking now quite a few meals. His favorite meal to cook is fried pot stickers.
Keiran goes to Kid's Church, has family prayer time.
He loves to build cities both with his brother with keva planks, Lego, and on Minecraft.
